Graham Moser 6’1″ Hallsville (2018): A strong two-way point guard who scored 16 points in the Indians victory over Harrisburg, including eight in the fourth quarter. Moser has good size and a physical body which he uses to get to the basket and finish. He also did an excellent job of guarding Harrisburg’s top player Cade Combs. His combination of size, strength and basketball IQ make him tough to handle.
Cameron Vaughn 6’1″ Fulton (2018): A smooth left-handed wing player who scored 15 points in a victory over California. Vaughn is an excellent defensive player with some of the quickest hands I’ve seen from a player all season. He had at least a half of dozen steals, including three in which he just picked the pocket of an opposing ball handler. And he does it in a smooth manner without fouling. Most of his offensive work is done in the lane of nice drives to the basket.
Cade Combs 6’4″ Harrisburg (2018): Cade scored 14 points in the loss to Hallsville in the first round. It was an off-shooting night for the talented wing player, who is one of the most potent offensive weapons in Mid-Missouri. At his size, he can score on smaller defenders, but he can also pull up and hit mid-range jumpers and knock down 3-pointers. He is also an excellent athlete who can throw down a slam dunk.
Makygh Galbreath 5’11” Fulton (2018): The grandson of former Mizzou and NFL player Tony Galbreath, the talented guard is a quick penetrating guard who is very difficult to keep out of the lane. He scored 13 points in the victory over California with much of the damage coming off of his dribble penetration. He is especially good in transition.
Sam Groner 5’11” Fatima (2018): Quick point guard who scored 13 points in the Comets loss to Boonville. Has the ability to play at a fast pace. Loves to push the ball in transition and was able to beat the defense back for buckets before it was able to set up. He also knocked down a couple of 3-pointers.
Spencer Stichnote 6’1″ Southern Boone (2019): A very athletic wing player who spends much of his time playing inside for a small Southern Boone team that plays basically all guards. His combination of athleticism and savvy enable him to play much bigger than his actual size. He rebounds the ball well and he has the ability to score on crafty drives to the basket with his nice handles.
Luke Hicks 6’0″ Hallsville (2019): A nice sophomore point guard who came off the bench to score eight points in the victory over Harrisburg. He was the best passing guard I watched during the four games. His court vision and basketball IQ were excellent. Whether it was in the half court or in transition, he dropped some pinpoint dimes to open teammates for buckets.
