OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Round 2 of the Best of the Midwest Showcase featured numerous high-level performers from some of the top teams from Kansas and Missouri.
Prep Hoops takes a look at some of the top prospects and performances from the six-game event.
Henry Gladson, 6’6, 2018, Chaminade
Has an old-school feel about his game and just finds a way to get it done. Is a tough, physical rebounder, battles in the paint and around the basket, but also has a soft shooting touch out to 17 feet.
Carte’Are Gordon, 6’9, 2018, Webster Groves
Showed the skills and abilities that has made him a five star recruit. He’s a strong, physical athlete with tremendous bounce and lift in his step. Has the ability to play high above the rim and finish with powerful slams. Can handle the ball, pass and shoot a little as well. His game reminds you a little of Julius Randle, but his perimeter skills are a little more refined.
Mason Fair, 6’5, 2018, Raytown
Continues to impress with soft hands and soft touch around the basket. Was the recipient of several dump down passes in this one and converted some easy baskets. Battled a big, athletic front line presented by Lawrence Free State and held his own.
Alex Tison, 6’7, 2017, Liberty
Kid was tough against Lawrence and showed a willingness to bang and grind inside. Is a physical presence, a solid rebounder and rim protector. Got most of his offense around the bucket.
