Lee’s Summit West at Park Hill, 7 p.m. -A late regular season battle between two of the top teams in the Kansas City area. Both are capable of making a big run in the upcoming Class 5 state tournament. Lee’s Summit West has won three tournaments during its tremendous season. They have size, athleticism and balance, as does Park Hill. Both are also deep. (Prediction: Lee’s Summit West)
Farmington at Hillsboro, 7 p.m. – An excellent battle in Jefferson County between two teams that could meet a third-time in the district tournament in a couple of weeks. Farmington won the first meeting by two points in the championship game of the Park Hills Central Christmas Tournament. Both teams have plenty of size and quality up front. (Prediction: Hillsboro).
Park Hill South at St. Joe Central, 7 p.m. – Another big meeting in the Western side of the state between teams with outstanding guards. Park Hill South relies on its stellar young guards in 2019s Lamel Robinson and Desi Williams. St. Joe Central has a tremendous 2017 backcourt in Jaiden Bristol and Matt Austin, which has led to 20 victories this season. (Prediction: St. Joe Central)
Pacific at Sullivan, 7 p.m. – The championship of the Four Rivers Conference is on the line in this showdown in Franklin County. Pacific has the league’s top player in 6’4″ 2018 guard Cameron Van Leer, who is back from an injury. In Van Leer’s absence, 2017 guard Jacob Klenke has stepped up big with his perimeter shooting. Sullivan also has a top player in 6’3″ 2017 forward Jared Woodcock, who is tough in the low post. The Eagles have a balanced scoring attack with four players routinely in double figures. (Prediction: Pacific)
Sikeston at Miller Career Academy, 6 p.m. – Sikeston makes the trip down to St. Louis for this late-season non-conference game. Both teams love to press and get up and down the court. The game will feature two of the state’s top players in 6’3″ 2018 guard Fred Thatch, Jr. of Sikeston and 6’6″ 2018 forward Javonte Perkins of Miller Career Academy. (Prediction: Sikeston).
Jennings at Parkway West, 6 p.m. – An excellent battle in the Suburban XII Central Conference. The two teams met in the Coaches vs. Cancer Holiday Tournament with Jennings taking the victory in overtime. Jennings is paced by 2018 guard Kyle Younge while Parkway West plays through 6’8″ 2017 Yale recruit Wyatt Yess. Whoever controls the tempo has the best shot of winning. (Prediction: Jennings)
Father Tolton at Helias, 7 p.m. – In two years, this will be an Archdiocesan Athletic Association game as both will join the league in 2018. Right now, it’s a battle between two Mid-Missouri independents featuring outstanding guards. Tolton is led by 6’0″ 2017 guard Isaiah Wilson while Helias relies on 5’11” 2018 guard Landon Harrison. Rackers Field House will be rocking. (Prediction: Helias)
