In one of those four games, Hallsville took on Harrisburg. Both teams are quite familiar with each other having already split two meetings earlier this season. The two teams battled on even terms in the first half with Hallsville taking a 34-33 lead at halftime. The second half was a different story as Hallsville took control of the game and cruised to a 76-61 victory. With the victory, the Indians improved to 15-4. They are talented unit made up of mostly juniors.

Now, it’s on to the best of the game
MVP: Brayden Blakemore (Hallsville): The 6’5″ 2017 post player enjoyed an excellent game with a team-high 16 points and 11 rebounds. Blakemore was tough around that basket, plus he stepped out and hit a number of mid-range jumpers off the catch. He controlled the boards throughout the game.
Best Offensive Player: Brendan Gray (Harrisburg) – The 5’11” 2017 guard scored a game-high 25 points in the losing cause. He did his best to keep Harrisburg in the game in the second half when Hallsville was making its decisive run. He got buckets on the drive and also knocked down several shots from long distance.
Best Shooter: Brendan Gray (Harrisburg) – Moser hit a game-high five 3-pointers. He knocked down shots off the catch, but he also had an impressive step-back jumper from beyond the arc in the second half.
Best Defensive Player: Graham Moser (Hallsville) – The 6’2″ 2018 guard had the job of guard Harrisburg standout Cade Combs and he did a nice job in holding the high scoring Combs to 13 points. Moser is a physically built guard who plays with a lot of strength and toughness. He also finished the game with 16 points.
Best Bench Player: Malachi Jackson (Hallsville) – The 6’1″ 2018 guard was a big sparkplug off the bench with 13 points. He knocked down a couple of 3-pointers upon entering the game in the first quarter. He helped seal the win down the stretch with several free throws.
Best Young Prospect (2019, 2020): Luke Hicks (Hallsville) – A 6’0″ 2020 point guard, Hicks came off the bench to score eight points. He is a nice point guard with excellent court vision and a lot of savvy to his game.
Best Passer: Luke Hicks (Hallsville) – I was very impressed with his ability to pass the rock from many different angles, whether in the half court or in transition. He knows how to get the ball to the scorers.
