Not only does Farr have options in basketball, but he’s also a highly sought after football recruit that has drawn interest from numerous high majors.
A talented 6’8 2018, Farr is a big man with an all-around skill set, capable of knocking down 3-pointers, handling the ball or getting big in the paint.
“Overall, my game consists of getting open jumpers and creating space,” Farr said. “They call me ‘Big Smooth’ because I have a smooth set. I’m not very quick and athletic, but I can get to the bucket and shoot the jumper.”
For basketball, he has heard from Nebraska, Drake, Illinois State and a few other mid-major schools. In football, he has drawn interest from several high majors, including Missouri, Iowa State, Ole Miss and Kansas. He has taken an unofficial visit to Kansas for football and plans to take a visit to UMKC for basketball.
Farr spent the summer playing with KC Run GMC and said he spent the summer focusing on improving his attitude and his athleticism.
“I tried to improve on my foot speed and my ability to jump higher and I did a lot of jump rope and stayed in the gym and tried to get my jumper on point,” he said. “Playing for Run GMC
gave me a lot of exposure traveling the country and having coaches watch you play.
“They helped me from a skill set wise. It is a great organization that is sponsored by Under Armour with great gear — it’s amazing.”
Farr said he enjoys watching LBJ on the football field, and in the NBA he says he likes Klay Thompson as well as Anthony Davis.
“(Thompson) is not as hyped up as a lot of the other players are, but I think he’s one of the best,” Farr said.
