Continue ReadingBradley Dean was given a heavy responsibility this winter. The six-foot Pierre T.F. Riggs guard is the leader, the point guard, and the top scorer for this year’s Governor team.
The team had a nice string of wins beating Mitchell, Rapid City Central, and Sturgis by double figures before falling to Brookings by 11 two nights ago.
“The season has started off OK as we are 4-5 right now but we are getting better game by game and starting to come together as a team and finding everyone’s role,” Dean told PHD.
Next up for Pierre is Rapid City Stevens, Aberdeen Central, and Brandon Valley so the challenge will be tough and the team will look to Dean for guidance.
“One thing I have been trying to do from last year is stepping up and being a leader,” Bradley said..”We had two great senior leaders in Brevin Kaiser and Erin Severyn last year and I’m trying to do the same this year.
“Being moved to point guard after playing the two guard last year was another way my game has grown as I am trying to set up my teammates and trying to get the best possible shot for our team each time down the floor.”
At 185 pounds Dean played wide receiver and defensive back for the Governor football team. He’s a standout hooper and football player so he will look at both sports for college.
“As of right now Mount Marty, Dakota Wesleyan, and Concordia-Moorhead are the top schools I’m hearing from for basketball. I have also heard from a Dakota State, DWU, and a few others for football.”
