The Favorite
Aanen Moody of Dickinson. Not only is the UND commit putting up 34.8 points per game shooting 54 percent from the floor and nearly 40 percent at the arc. Not only are the numbers there but Dickinson is 9-1 and just grabbed a huge win over Bismarck Century. He had 26 in that win and then had 44 the other day against Jamestown.
Top Contenders
Siman Sem of Fargo North. Sem is having a fabulous senior year with 25 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 assists a game for the 7-2 Spartans. He recently had 45 points and 21 rebounds in a close loss to West Fargo.
KyJuan Johnson of Minot. The Magicians are undefeated and working for a third straight state title. KyJuan has been the PG for all of those teams and he had the biggest make of the year when he scored on the attack to tie the game at 68 when Minot beat Century (had 27 in that game).
Tronis McKay of Four Winds-Minnewaukan. The top producer from the number one team in state was named tournament MVP a couple weeks back in a big name event and Tronis is putting up 24 points a game against one of the toughest Class B schedules in the state.
Jake Hanson of Milnor/North Sargent. The Bulldogs are 9-1 on the season led by Hanson who has been stuffing the stat sheets game after game. Hanson is scoring 26 points a game while also grabbing eight rebounds, dishing out six assists, and getting 2.3 steals a contest.
Jayden Komrosky of North Star. The 6-foot-4 Komrosky has led North Star to an 8-2 mark on the year with Jayden putting up 20.2 points a game while also recording six boards, four assists, and nearly three steals a contest. Jayden is shooting 46 percent from the field on his 15-16 field goal attempts each game.
Logan Nelson of Northern Cass. Logan finished 2016 by scoring 36 and surpassing 1,000 points and then in 2017 he put up 27 against Thompson. In his most recent performance Logan knocked out five threes in the first half and then scored 31 points on Monday.
Jake Paper of Fargo Davies. He’s putting up 19 points and 12 rebounds a game for the undefeated Eagles and his been outstanding both inside and out. Paper is shooting 56 percent from the floor, is making some shots at the arc, and is blocking nearly three shots a game.
Potential Contenders
Jordan Meidinger of Dickinson. NDSU signed big is giving 12 points, 9 boards, and 3 blocks a game.
Justin Engg of Minot. Engg leads the undefeated three time champion in scoring and in rebounding.
Jack Schaefer of New Rockford-Sheyenne. Jack is putting up monster numbers including the 42 against Northern Cass and then 34 last week beating Warwick.
Stevie Red Fox of Four Winds-Minnewaukan. The point guard sets the table for the number one ranked Class B team in state and the defending champs.
Kyle Henningsgard of Hillsboro-Central Valley. His last seven days have been outstanding. Kyle surpassed the 1,000th point mark last night and led his team over Four Winds last week.
Drew Pearson of Des Lacs Burlington. Maybe one of the most underrated players in the state Drew had 28 this week and then 34 in a recent loss.
