Friday Night Predictions! (SD & ND)
Our Friday Night Predictions grabs the top five games in both North Dakota and South Dakota, picks the winners in those top games, and downright helps with the excitement of a big night.
South Dakota
Sioux Valley at Chester Area. The Flyers had their wings clipped by Bridgewater-Emery and then lost to Madison by 11. They won their first game of the Big East event last night but get the Cossacks who were woken up by Madison and now ready to roll. Sioux Valley will keep rolling with a 16 point win tonight.
Chamberlain at Dell Rapids. It’s time for some of these Class A teams to sorting things out. Who is a real contender? Dell Rapids is 4-1 and tonight they are going for the best win of the year and undefeated Chamberlain is doing the same. Cubs fall on the road by two scores.
SF O’Gorman at Rapid City Stevens. The Raiders are looking to complete the first half Sioux Falls sweep after they beating Washington and Roosevelt already. The Mason Archambault against Matt Cartwright battle of two of the best players in the state is a headline. O’Gorman is also the state’s number one team and although they did lost a couple over the break, no South Dakota team has beaten O’Gorman yet. Stevens won’t either. Knights win 69-59.
Madison at Tea Area. The Titans suffered that Vermillion setback so they are looking for a big Class A win to get them back on track. Madison is coming off wins over Sioux Valley and Chester Area and both were by double figures so they have been playing well. Bulldogs pull it off on the road 63-60.
Groton Area at Hamlin. They sneaky fun game of the night is undefeated Groton traveling to play at 4-1 Hamlin. The Tigers haven’t been just beating teams, they have been hammering everyone. Redfield/Doland is good by the Tigers took them out by 21. Hamlin isn’t quite in the same area as Groton Area so it will be a dozen point Groton Area win. That said, Hamlin has been good. They had a very good win on Tuesday beating Florence/Henry.
North Dakota
Dickinson Trinity vs Our Redeemer. There is an excellent event going on at Shiloh Christian the next two days and we are about 30 minutes from the Trinity vs Our Redeemer game. Trinity is one of the top contenders while the Knights want to be on that level. Trinity will win by 13.
Hazen at Des Lacs-Burlington. The Wyatt Carr crew is 1-2 after an overtime win over Bowman County. All the Bison games have been battles and they will battle with Des Lacs-Burlington tonight. The Lakers have played a very tough schedule and now host Hazen. Des Lacs-B did lose to Beulah and Four Winds recently so they are a bit on edge and we think they win by six.
Beulah at Parshall. A must win already? The Parshall Braves can not fall to 2-3. They have two close losses to good teams and they have back to back games with Beulah and North Shore that they need to win if they are to get back on track. The Miners from Beulah are formidable at 4-2 but Parshall wins on a Deyondre Simpson late game scoring run.
Hillsboro/Central Valley at Thompson. This could be the game of the night. Thompson is one of the most talented teams in the state in Class B so that loss to Linton/HMB was a surprise. But maybe it woke them up as they hammered opponents after that loss. HCV is the ranked team after a good start. They did lose to one of Minnesota’s better small school teams (Hillcrest Lutheran) but tonight they get the road one by a point.
Dickinson at Bismarck Legacy. The Saber season has been a roller coaster of two losses, four wins, and two more losses. It’s time for a Saber upset. Is tonight the night? Not likely. It’s a better bet that Aanen Moody has a run of his own. He had 47 on Tuesday and when he goes on scoring runs look out. Dickinson is playing so well and we think they get a 19 point win.
