MVP | KHALIL WILLIAMS-DIGGINS | WEST PO ’17
Khalil Williams-Diggins showcased his athleticism and playmaking ability throughout this game. The talented senior scored his 1000th point while leading his team to a convincing conference home win.
BEST PLAY
6’11 sophomore Jonas Munson came up with a huge rejection, sparking a fast break which resulted in a dunk by senior Da’Jon Bellfield. West Potomac outscored TC in 20-6 in the second quarter, and held a 42-18 halftime advantage.
BEST OFFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | KHALIL WILLIAMS-DIGGINS | WEST PO ’17
Williams-Diggins showcased his ability to score from all levels. He consistently created space and hit shots off the dribble, and exhibited impressive body control and touch when finishing in the paint. When he didn’t have a look, KWD didn’t hesitate to deliver a timely and accurate pass to an open teammate.
BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE | DA’JON BELLFIELD | WEST PO ’17
Bellfield is really fun to watch. The long & lanky, athletic 6’4 forward is very passionate and demonstrated the ability to defend both on the perimeter and in the paint.
BEST UNDER-THE-RADAR PERFORMANCE | MYLES WEAVER | TC ’18
Weaver quietly led the game in scoring with 22 points. The junior has a nice touch out to the three point arc, and isn’t afraid to mix it up in the paint either.
BEST GUY OFF THE BENCH | JONAS MUNSON | WEST PO ’19
Munson is coming along nicely in his role off the bench. Don’t be surprised to see him grow into a larger role as he continues to get stronger and more comfortable with this level of competition.
BEST UNDERCLASSMEN | DARYL MACKEY JR. | WEST PO ’19
Daryl Mackey Jr. was without question the best prospect on the floor in this one. The athletic, tough, and skilled guard looked very confident tonight, and should only get better as he continues to grow into his body.
BEST REBOUNDER | IDARESIT EKPUK | WEST PO ’17
Idaresit Ekpuk made his presence felt on the offensive boards in the second half. The sturdily built forward is an absolute workhorse in the paint.
BEST INTANGIBLES | KHALIL WILLIAMS-DIGGINS | WEST PO ’17
Williams-Diggins will make some college coach happy one day. The unselfish senior displays the traits of a winning floor general.
