The Week Ahead: Class B kicking off strong
Class A continues Tuesday night while Class B in North Dakota starts this weekend with games across the state. What are the top games? Check “The Week Ahead”.
Tuesday Night Class A. The game of the night will be #9 Fargo North vs #7 Devils Lake at Devils Lake High. The Firebirds dropped their first game of the season to West Fargo so they really need to avoid 0-2 which will be tough with Siman Sem. Devils Lake is at home and this is a game they really can’t afford to lose as this is their big year.
Dickinson opens the year with Bismarck, WF Sheyenne opens with Fargo South, GFRR needs win one after losing to Minot so they need to beat Wahpeton, and West Fargo takes on GC Central. On Thursday GFRR plays Fargo South hoping for two wins this week and Mandan plays Jamestown.
Friday Night Class B Tip Off. Bishop Ryan is at Hazen for a 7pm opening night tip an Bishop Ryan has the potential to be a top ten squad but can they win on Wyatt Carr’s home court?…Burke County has Josh Kihle now as an upperclassmen so big numbers should be expected…Flasher and Strasburg/Zeeland each lost huge names from last year’s class so what will they look like? They open with one another…Speaking of teams moving on from stars Hettinger/Scranton is at Linton/HMB who could be top ten soon as well….Solen opens with Standing Rock/Selfridge…
Get There Early! There are a couple games Friday you should plan to see and enjoy. First off #1 Fargo Davies has their first test as the state’s top ranked team when they play Devils Lake. The other game to know is the Turtle Mountain versus Dickinson contest that could see one, who knows maybe two teams in triple digits.
Get There Early 2! Remember the scores of the Midgets and Magic last year? Minot hosts Dickinson in a game that could get wild. KyJuan Johnson and Aanen Moody put together a game last year that people will never forget. Maybe something similar happens?
Why Waste Time? Shiloh Christian has a very tough schedule this year, they open at Dickinson Trinity so our #2 ranked team plays our #9 ranked team on the first night of their schedules…Why Not! Competition makes teams better and this is exactly what fans want to see. Ellendale is at Central Cass so both of those programs agree. Ellendale is ranked #8 preseason while Central Cass it the number one team knocking on the door to get ranked.
Others…Hillsboro/Central Valley opens at Kindred, Northern Cass is at Hankinson, and number one Four Winds/Minnewaukan opens with Grafton/St. Thomas.
