Brandon McKissic 6’2″ SLUH (2017): The UMKC signee collected 21 points in leading the Jr. Bills to the third-place victory. McKissic just overpowers opposing guards with his physical strength as he gets to the basket whenever he wants. He had the mid-range jumper going and he is now also posting up and getting buckets inside against smaller guards.
E.J. Liddell 6’7″ Belleville West (2019): The Division I prospect scored a team-high 17 points to lead the Maroons to the tournament championship. An assistant coach from Creighton was in the house to see Liddell on Friday night. He was a force on the offensive glass and in the post with his athleticism and skills. He is also becoming more and more comfortable facing the basket.
Tyler Dancy 6’6″ Belleville West (2019): A physical beast at 250 pounds, Dancy powered his way to 11 points in the championship game. He is a classic low-post player who does an excellent job of holding his position and catching the ball in traffic. He is very good at scoring inside with both hands. Already has an offer from Division II UMSL.
Eric Krus 6’6″ Vianney (2017): He finished with a game-high 13 points in the championship. Although he was somewhat slowed down by a horde of West defenders in the finals, Krus enjoyed an outstanding tournament, as he averaged 24 points a game in leading the Golden Griffins to the championship game. Krus has picked up a few NAIA offers, but some Division II’s are also looking.
Shaun Williams 6’3″ Hazelwood Central (2018): Williams finished with a team-high 18 points in the third-place loss to SLUH. An offensive minded combo guard, Williams scored on repeated drives to the basket and got himself to the free throw line. He also knocked down a couple of nice jumpers off the dribble.
Anthony Hughes 6’3″ SLUH (2017): An athletic all-purpose player who did a little of everything, including scoring 13 points. Hughes is an excellent defender who also crashed the offensive glass for buckets and scored in transition. A very valuable player to have because he does a little of everything and he does it in an athletic manner.
Matt Leritz 6’6″ SLUH (2018): The versatile Stretch 4 scored 10 points in the victory over Hazelwood Central. He knocked down a couple of 3-pointers off the catch and also scored on a nice tip in. A skilled big who really enhances SLUH’s offense.
Colin Braun 6’7″ Vianney (2018): A long, skinny post player who plays with excellent activity on both ends. He blocked shots and altered several others. Despite his thin frame, he’s not afraid of the physical action inside. He also had some impressive rim-runs, one which resulted in a big dunk when he was fouled on the play.
Will Matthews 6’2″ Belleville West (2018): A junkyard dog of a performer who is skilled enough to be effective on the perimeter, but is strong and physical enough to handle himself against opposing bigs. Handles it well and knocked down a pair of 3-pointers.
Dalton Fox 6’4″ Belleville West (2017): One of unsung heroes of the Maroons victory in the championship game. He scored 12 points, with most of them coming on corner jumpers. Fox shot the ball with confidence and got the positive results.
