A skilled inside-outside forward, Wiley currently holds an offer from Division II William Jewell, but has drawn interest from Louisiana-Monroe, South Alabama, Evansville, Northern Alabama, Loyola-Chicago, Indiana State, Coppin State, Texas State, Texas-Corpus Christy, Stephen F Austin, Prairie View A & M, Southwestern State, Drury and Central Missouri.
Wiley says he has only taken a visit to William Jewell so far, but has plans to visit Drury soon as well.
After a strong summer playing for MoKan Select, Wiley has started the season strong. He is a forward that can score on the block as well as step out and hit jumpers. And he is a tenacious rebounder, as evidenced by his 14 boards on Saturday at the Ozark Mountain Shootout.
His Bruins are off to a 3-3 start and feature a mix of five seniors and several talented sophomores.
“My high school team is young,” Wiley said. “We have a lot of sophomores that are seasoned and good. Our team is led by five seniors, including myself. My expectations for this year are to win our district and to get a shot at winning a state title.
“I want to play teams like Kickapoo and get another shot at CBC. I feel like we can beat them. Any of the states top teams are on my list. I love to compete.”
A fan of the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Oklahoma Sooners, Wiley says his parents have had the biggest impact on his basketball career.
“They have developed me into what I am today,” he said.
