They just hopped into this week’s AP top 10 and much of their success this year is from the post play of junior Caleb Brown. The 6’6 power forward is the lead man for Broad Ripple scoring wise and really helps open up the floor for the shooters on the team.
Brown is very versatile because he has great athleticism and can guard four positions on the floor. He can shoot it a bit but does most of his damage from inside of 15′
So far in his recruiting he has had one visit to Lipscomb and does not have any planned for the upcoming winter. Brown has no offers quite yet but with continued solid play throughout this winter and a strong summer, the 15th ranked junior in Indiana will be sure to have colleges flocking to see him.
Over the summer Brown said that he worked on his athleticism the most, but also some other things as well. He also says that he worked on his dribbling and wing play so that it will translate over to the college game.
This year Brown says that he has noticed an improvement in his shot and his athleticism
Brown says that most of the coaches that he talks to like a few similar qualities of his game. These similarities show up in his game every day as well.
“They like how I can either move inside or outside and be on the perimeter. Then how I can score on the inside as well.”
Brown really wants to find a college where he can fit in right away and get into a system that makes him a better player, rather than just playing right away.
“I also want to play somewhere I can play the small forward position possibly.”
