MICDS: Francis Howell vs. Ladue, 7:45 p.m. – A battle between the No. 4 and No. 6 seeds in a well-balanced tournament for the championship. Ladue has excellent size and good shooters while Howell has been tremendous all season. Both have excellent point guards who are different. Howell has 5’5″ sophomore dynamo Dylan Dalton while Ladue features athletic 6’1″ senior Zach Bush. Howell has made my prediction of finishing last in the GAC look really silly. Prediction: Francis Howell
Blue & Gold (Gold Division): Ozark vs. Willard, 8:30 p.m. – Ozark scored an impressive victory over Nixa in the semifinals last night as junior guard Quinn Nelson scored 24 points. Willard has registered an impressive pair of wins to get to the championship game behind the play of 6’5″ senior Houston Johnson. (Prediction: Ozark).
Blue & Gold (Blue Division): Glendale vs. Republic, 7 p.m. – A game of contrasting style as Glendale loves to get buckets behind its talented junior duo of Monty Johal and Jordan Walton. Republic has been putting teams in lockdown with its defensive prowess to get to the championship game. They can also shoot the basketball. (Prediction: Glendale).
Chaminade: Chaminade vs. Ritenour, 8:15 p.m. – In what could be a high-scoring track meet, the host Red Devils will take on a Ritenour team that loves to get up and down the court and score at a high rate. With Chaminade’s talent and depth, the up-temp game should suit them just fine, especially in their own gym. It should be an entertaining game. (Prediction: Chaminade).
Bloomfield: Hayti vs. Dexter, 8:30 p.m. – Top-seeded Hayti made its way to the championship game by defeating host Bloomfield in the semifinals. Waiting for them in the championship game is a solid Dexter team in a battle of the tournament’s top two seeds. (Prediction: Hayti).
St. Dominic: Sikeston vs. Fort Zumwalt South, 8:15 p.m. – Powerful Sikeston makes it annual trek North to play in the St. Dominic Tournament, which it has dominated in recent year. These two teams have an excellent history of championship games in this tournament. Sikeston has been rolling behind its stud junior guard Fred Thatch. South is on the right track after a slow start. (Prediction: Sikeston).
