Commentary
Generally in ND Class B basketball the difference in ability between a team’s number one and number six players is drastic. Minot Bishop Ryan has stayed consistently competitive and comes into this season as the favorite to take Region Six because there is almost no difference in ability between their numbers one and six players. This is a region loaded with one or two extremely talented players on each team, but Bishop Ryan returns only one player (Stewart) who averaged more than 10 ppg. Expect big numbers from the likes of Pearson, Marquart, and Lamoreux. Dalton Steede showcased his elite rim protecting abilities at the State Class B Tournament last season, but a lack of scoring on this year’s ORCS team will bar them from making a return trip.
Dark Horse
Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood. The Mustangs are the diaper dandies of this region and look primed to make a serious run despite the youth of their stars. Undlin averaged 20.5 ppg and 9 rpg as a freshman; those numbers should improve. Junior Trevor Savelkoul along with the seniors on this MLS team will determine how long their run lasts.
