2019
Daylan Dalton 5’5″ Francis Howell: An electric quick little point guard with slick handles and excellent court vision, Dalton orchestrates the Howell offense expertly and is chiefly responsible for its near-flawless execution at times. He can move at different speeds and accelerate and get to the basket and finish with layups and floaters. He does an excellent job of locating open teammates from just about anywhere on the court.
Isaiah Williams 5’9″ Trinity: A standout football prospect who also gets a lot of business done on the basketball court. He has good quickness and athleticism and is very good at attacking the basket and finishing in traffic. He pushes the ball and loves to play with a lot of pace. He scored xx points in the Titans victory over St. Charles in the consolation semifinals game.
Jack Buford 6’5″ Lutheran North: A very unique player to watch. At 6’5″ and 290-pounds, he is a future college prospect as a lineman on the football field, but Buford is a skilled basketball player with good footwork in the post and a nice shooting touch from 3-point range. He is very big, but he is very agile for his size. Buford can also put it on the floor and pass it as well.
Jalen White 6’2″ Lutheran North: A young, strong bodied shooting guard who knows how to get buckets. Scored a game-high 20 points in the Crusaders’ first round loss to Parkway South. He was very good on the drive when he was able to use his strength and ability to score through contact. He made a couple of perimeter jumpers, but he was much better on the drive on this day.
Cameron Teson 5’9″ St. Charles: A feisty young point guard who plays with a lot of confidence and swag in his game. He handles the ball well and can shoot you some nifty passes from different kinds of angles. Cameron also has nice range from 3-point distance. He did not play in the Pirates’ loss to Trinity during the consolation bracket. He was sorely missed.
Marcus Washington 6’2″ Trinity: Another standout football prospect from Trinity’s young powerhouse team, Washington is also quite a threat on the basketball court with his overall athleticism. What he enjoys most is getting to the basket off the straight line dribble, which he is capable of accomplishing in the half court or full court sets.
2020
Jordan Nesbit 6’4″ Lutheran North: A large-sized point guard with plenty of talent and potential to be one of the top prospects in the class. Scored a game-high 22 points in a victory over Clayton in the consolation semifinals. He handles the ball well and can pass it. He does his best scoring when he can get to the basket or when he can back his man down and use his size to shoot over smaller defenders. Also has the potential to be an excellent defender with his size and length. Lots of upside.
Rashad McDaniels 5’9″ Trinity: A physical combo guard who plays with a lot of poise to go along with the ability to get buckets. He showed the ability to get to the basket and finish on his iso moves and he knocked down the 3-pointer. He plays an old school type of game because he plays at his speed and doesn’t seem to get rushed. As a freshman, he’s not afraid of the big moment or the big shot.
Matt Schark 6’3″ Francis Howell: A solid forward who already starts on a very good team that advanced to the semifinals. He does a nice job of knocking down the corner 3-corner which really helps to space the court.
Ryan Kalkbrenner 6’7″ Trinity: A long, lanky youngster who has displayed the ability to score inside, but he really has a big presence on the defensive end with his length. He blocked a number of shots and altered several others. As he gets physically stronger, he will develop into quite a prospect.
Tahj Patterson 5’10” Lutheran North: A young shooting guard who displayed some nice offensive potential during the tournament. In one game I watched, he scored on some nice takes to the basket in the first half, then knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the seconds half. He plays with a lot of confidence on the offensive end.
Devion Harris 6’6″ Parkway Central: A very long and lengthy youngster who got a taste of varsity ball during the tournament and showed some nice things, especially on the defensive end with some shot blocking. He also moves well and can get up and down the court with agility. Stay tuned.
