Commentary
Dickinson Trinity is the defending champion and returns once again as the favorite to repeat. Shawn Stoltz might have a double-double in the first half of more than half of his games this year. Cody Holt can be dominant at the center position with his 6’8” frame. The only issue will be getting the ball to him after New England lost its best backcourt players to graduation. Beach will have a couple talented freshman in Talon Hoffer and Gage Swanson. There will be growing pains, but expect them to top the All-Region lists soon.
Dark Horse
Hazen. Wyatt Carr averaged 30 ppg last season will be a Mr. Basketball Candidate. If the rest of the Bison can elevate their play from last season (11-12 record) they will be competing with Dickinson Trinity and Heart River for the region crown. Freshman Isaac Doll will be a key to that after averaging 6 ppg and playing significant minutes as an 8th grader last season.
