SLUH: The Junior Billikens finished third in the Class 5 state tournament last season. They return All-State guard Brandon McKissic, 6’7″ post players B.J. Wilson and Brett Smith and junior point guard Mike Sanders. SLUH has advanced to the Final Four of the state tournament the past two seasons.
Webster Groves: The Statesmen are loaded after finishing 26-2 last season. The top performer is 6’3″ junior Courtney Ramey, who is one of the top guards in the country in the 2018 class. In January, the Statesmen will get the services of five-star 2018 post Carte’are Gordon.
Kickapoo: The Chiefs were Class 5 state runners-up a year ago. They will be very good again with the return of 6’8″ Xavier signee Jared Ridder and 6’1″ guard Cameron Davis (Navy) back to lead the way. The supporting cast has plenty of size and as well as a talented youngster in sophomore Danyae McCaskill.
Chaminade: The Jayson Tatum era has ended at Chaminade, but the Red Devils are still talented with the return of 6’4″ senior Reginald Crawford, 6’7″ junior Jericole Hellems, 6’6″ junior Karrington Davis. A new addition to the program is 6’11” junior Liam Courtney.
Lee’s Summit West: The Titans return a talented group that played for a district title a year ago. West is led by 6’8″ Bradley signee Elijah Childs, dynamic 6’2″ junior guard Mario Goodrich and emerging 6’6″ junior wing Christian Bishop.
Rock Bridge: The Bruins are on the verge of being one of the breakthrough teams in the state. They are led by 6’6″ senior forward Eysan Wiley and a talented group of sophomores, led by 6’5″ Isiaih Mosley, 6’2″ Dajuan Harris, 6’0″ Ben Cooper and 6’2″ Jamonta Black.
Park Hill: The Trojans are loaded with young talent, but they will be following the lead of 6’2″ senior guard Dru Smith. There are many talented underclassmen in the fold, led by 6’1″ junior Ronnie Bell, 6’9″ sophomore Roman Wilson and 6’6″ junior Cecil Lee.
Poplar Bluff: The Mules have one of the top scoring duos in the state in 6’6″ senior forward Willie Lucas and 6’5″ sophomore guard Marcedus Leech. They also added an impact transfer in 6’3″ sophomore forward Dominique Hardimon from South Pemiscot.
Glendale: The Falcons move up to Class 5 after advancing to the Class 4 state quarterfinals a year ago. Glendale features one of the top backcourts in the state in junior standouts Monty Johal and Jordan Walton.
CBC: The Cadets will field another strong team, which will be led by 6’5″ junior Kale Catchings and the senior backcourt duo of Sam Orf and Josh Nunn. CBC has plenty of young talent behind them.
Park Hill South: The Panthers will build around a terrific trio of young guards in 5’10” sophomore Lamel Robinson, 5’9″ sophomore Desi Williams and 6’3″ junior Saadique Perkins, a transfer from the Kansas side.
Nixa: The Eagles will field another strong team behind the talents of 6’6″ senior forward Christian Bundy and 5’8″ senior point guard Seth Viebrock. Young combo guard Braeden Combs is an emerging talent.
Jackson: The Indians have won five district championships in succession. They will try for five behind a talented junior trio of 6’7″ forward Cameron Hester, 6’6″ wing Pete Lake and 6’3″ guard Desmond Morris.
Fort Zumwalt South: The Bulldogs should be the top team in St. Charles County with the return of 6’0″ junior guard Darious Thomas, 5’11” senior Drake Whaley, 6’6″ senior Chris Jordan and 6’3″ sophomore sharpshooter E.J. Bellinger.
Republic: The Tigers will field another team of excellent shooters, led by 6’2″ senior guard Treydon Rackley and up and coming 6’3″ sophomore Broc Smith.
