Hartville: The Eagles were Class 2 state champions in 2016. They return an excellent backcourt in 5’8″ senior Dune Piper and 6’1″ senior Deric Jones. Also back are 5’10” senior Jace Keith and 6’10” junior Cody Kelly.
Ellington: The Whippets have won back-to-back district championships. Ellington returns an excellent senior frontcourt duo in 6’6″ Wesley Sharp and 6’4″ Marshon Morrisey, who are both four year starters.
Salisbury: The Panthers are looking for another big season much like in 2015 when they won 28 games. The leader will be 6’3″ senior forward Garrett Francis, who led the team in scoring and rebounding.
Wellington-Napoleon: The Tigers won 30 games and finished third in the state tournament a year ago. They return 6’0″ senior guard D. Hughes and 6’1″ sophomore guard Trey Shannon.
Sacred Heart: The Gremlins have been consistent contenders in Class 2 in recent years. They will be built around the talents of 6’0″ junior point guard Trent Lyles.
Harrisburg: The Bulldogs are looking to get back into the championship chase behind excellent 6’3″ junior Cade Combs and 5’10” senior guard Brendan Gray.
Crane: The Pirates return their top player in 5’11” senior guard Dalton Hayes, who averaged 15 points a game. Also back in the fold are 6’3″ senior forward Devon White and 6’0″ junior Colton Elder.
New Bloomfield: The Wildcats played for a district championship a year ago. They will contend again this year behind the play of 6’6″ junior Jak Kitchens, who led the team in scoring and rebounding.
Stanberry: The Class 1 state champions have moved up to Class 2 this season. Stanberry will be built around 6’5″ junior Brad Hailey, who averaged 10 points a game as a sophomore.
Crystal City: The Hornets will be one of the top teams in Jefferson County. They are led by 6’7″ junior Brady DeGeare, who has been a starter since his freshman year. Also back is 5’11” guard Ahmad Townsend.
