Continue ReadingThe Class of 2017 has a lot of talent and 6’5” Aaron Shank is no let down. Shank is an integral piece in the talented Hamilton Southeastern roster this upcoming season. He played this summer with Indiana Elite Green 2017 where he became a more aggressive player on both ends of the floor.
Shank had a busy summer with playing for Indiana Elite Green, playing with HSE, participating in camps, and visiting schools. Aaron is currently receiving interest from Depauw University, Hanover College, Anderson University. Trine University, Otterbein University, Millikin University, and Franklin College. He has been on visits with Hanover and Depauw. “I’m looking for a school where I can get a great education and succeed on the court”. Shank is a winner and wants to be a part of a winning program and do what he can to make an impact early.
After a successful summer going 15-1 with HSE, Shank is looking forward to his senior season. “I want to score and rebound the ball more, I’m hoping I can be a threat on both ends of the court”. Coming off a strong summer, look for Shank to continue being aggressive on the court and making a difference on both ends.
Shank wants to help lead his team to the sectional title and continue to state. There is potential for HSE to break the all-time win’s record for a single season (21 set in 2012-2013 season) with the talent they have this year.
“I worked a lot on my shooting over the summer. My biggest strength is my feel for the game.” Aaron has a good basketball IQ and is working to use that on both ends of the floor. He is working to improve his strength and foot-speed to be able to guard on-ball more effectively. This is what he had to say about the work that the team put in this summer, “we also worked on condition because we want to get up and down”. Their offense has taken on a new identity and HSE is looking to score quickly this year.
With the wealth of talent HSE boasts, be on the lookout for Aaron Shank to be a big contributor this season. HSE is out to prove that they can play with anyone in the state and Shank will be a major component in that being a reality.
