After catching up with Dylan about his summer, it was apparent that he knows where he needs to continue to grow. “I shot the ball well and drove to the basket well but I could’ve been more aggressive on the offensive end.” Penn understand that he will need to remain aggressive from start to finish to continue to develop his game.
Throughout the summer, Penn made appearances at Elite Camps for St. Joseph College and Evansville University. He is continuing to push himself to start turning heads and gaining interest from collegiate programs.
“I’ve been working on improving my jump shot all summer”. Penn has the ability to light it up from deep and uses his quickness to get to the basket and make plays for himself and his teammates. Penn is continuing to work on shooting off the dribble and finishing strong around the basket.
Evansville Memorial is chasing the sectional title as well as winning 15 games. Penn is after leading his team in scoring and being a leader both vocally and by example for the underclassmen. “I want to help the young guys and make them feel comfortable at the varsity level to build team chemistry.”
Penn battled an early season injury last season that put him in a splint for the beginning portion of the year. He is looking forward to having a full, healthy season and helping the underclassmen grow into strong contributors at the varsity level.
Be on the lookout for Dylan Penn to make an impact this season with Evansville Memorial. Heading into his junior season, he is out to prove that he is a player to keep an eye out for.
