Continue ReadingAs always, there will be a new group incoming freshmen who will have the ability to make an impact at the varsity level right away. Here is a look at some of those freshmen with the potential to make waves in their debut seasons.
Davion Bradford 6’10” CBC: A rapidly developing post player who eventually become one of the most highly-recruited players in the region. Still a pup at this stage of the game, but has already shown the ability to catch the ball and score around the basket. He’s a pup right now, but watch for him in the future.
Tavyen Glasgow 6’1″ Lee’s Summit West: A thick-bodied southpaw point guard who is very skilled and plays with a lot of poise and savvy. He is a slick ball handler who knows how to get buckets without ever getting out of control.
Luke Kasubke 6’4″ Chaminade: An athletic wing player who really loves to attack the basket with gusto. He is also a good finisher in transition and with 3-point range to boot.
Quenton Shelton 5’10” Lebanon: A talented combo guard who should make a huge impact at Lebanon with his ability to handle the ball and create offense off the dribble. Has long distance shooting range and can get his own shot.
Ethan Kilgore 6’6″ East Buchanan: Versatile young big who has the ability to play in the post or handle the ball and be a playmaker on the perimeter like a guard.
Payton Howard 5’9″ Sikeston: Talented young point guard with excellent skills and a nice set of fundamentals. Plays with a lot of poise.
Keion Fletcher 6’3″ Barstow: A skilled wing player with good size and athleticism. Can get to the basket and make perimeter jumpers.
Elijah Bishop 6’5″ Soldan: A long, athletic post player who already has the ability to rebound at a high level. Can also score around the basket.
Zarian Navy 5’11” St. Pius: A talented young point guard who is a very unselfish passer, but is also quick and athletic with skills to get to the basket and knock down jumpers off the dribble.
Jordan Nesbitt 6’4″ Lutheran North: A long, athletic youngsters with the size and the skill set to play either the point guard or shooting guard spot.
Rashad Weekly 5’9″ Trinity: A strong, physical combo guard who has the ability to score and get to the basket. He can also pull up and knock down a jumper.
Caleb Love 6’2″ CBC: A good sized point guard with excellent court vision and a nice perimeter stroke from 3-point range.
J.J. Schwepker 6’4″ Fort Zumwalt South: A nice young Stretch 4 with a good body and the ability to step out and knock down 3-pointers off the catch.
