The Basketball Interview…with Bradley Dean
Bradley Dean is now a senior and he’s had an excellent career to date. The Pierre TF Riggs guard is a clutch shot maker and he talked with PHD today about his favorite parts of his favorite game.
At your school, what is your favorite part or parts about game days in terms of the routine leading up to the game?
“My favorite part of gamedays at Riggs is just being around my fellow classmates. Hearing them tell us good luck and that they will be at the game really shows the kind of support our school has.”
What makes your crowd unique? What is a memorable thing that they’ve done that you will always remember?
“Our crowd is the best in the state, hands down. Every game is packed and all the noise and encouragement in the gym, it truly is home court advantage.”
Who is the toughest player you can recall playing against in South Dakota basketball and why?
“I would probably have to say Braxton Elliot from O’Gorman. He was just a solid all-around player.”
Who is your biggest rival and what about them makes the rivalry both heated and memorable?
“I think our biggest rival is Huron. We have met 4 out of the last 5 years in the district championship game and they are always good and very well coached.”
Who is your favorite basketball player in the world and why?
“My favorite player in the world is a toss-up between Damian Lillard or Russell Westbrook. Both are 2 of the best point guards in the game and true leaders and scorers.”
What brand of gear or type of gear are you partial to?
“Adidas.”
What is your favorite venue to play basketball in that you’ve played in?
“Denny Sanford Premier Center or Riggs High Gym.”
If you could play on any court which one would it be?
“I have always dreamed of playing at the Target Center in Minneapolis since the Wolves are my favorite team. “
Explain the relationship varsity players have at your school with youth players?
“Our varsity team and younger players are very close. We all support each other in our games and it’s always cool being a role model to them.”
Who is your basketball influence?
“My parents and coaches, they all want the best for me and are always supportive.”
