Top Missouri Prospects
Dru Smith 6’2″ Park Hill: An athletic slashing guard who was selected to the Top 20 All-Star Game. Smith was in attack mode from the moment the camp started. He had several coast-to-coast drives to the basket in transition. He plays with great energy and enthusiasm at both ends of the floor.
Deontei Johnson 6’3″ Willard: The athletic wing player enjoys attacking the basket and dunking whenever possible. He was selected to the Top 40 All-Star Game. If he backs the defender up with his aggressive drives, he can simply stop on the dime and hit the 15 foot pull up jumper. His high motor was running on full during the day.
Calvin Heidenwith 6’3″ Putnam County: A very sound shooting guard who did a nice job moving the ball with excellent passing and court vision. He moved well without the ball and made a number of open 3-pointers off the catch. He adjusted well to the ball-dominant style of showcase events by playing effectively off the ball and getting open shots.
Noah Abassi 6’3″ Fordland: A well-built forward who checks in at a solid 205 pounds. He took advantage of his opportunities on offense by making a number of mid-range jumpers off the catch. He was a very solid passer and rebounder who does not make a lot of mistakes.
Regional and National Prospects
Jamichael Morgan 6’5″ Blue Valley Northwest (KS): One of the most, if not the most explosive players at the showcase. It came to no surprise that Morgan was the winner of the slam dunk champion. He also has an endless motor when it comes to attacking the basket on offense. He is an electric performer in transition when he can really throw down some crowd-pleasing dunks.
Darien Jackson 6’2″ Blue Valley Northwest (KS): Jackson came pretty close to his high school teammate Morgan when it came to high-level explosiveness. Jackson was really throwing down the dunks with regularity. He is a talented wing player who gets in the lane and knocks down the mid-range jumper in addition to his above-the-rim finishes.
Cadarious Gilliam 6’2″ Clarksdale (MS): The talented guard from Mississippi had a nice combination of athleticism and a smooth skill set. He started off displaying some good court vision with his passing. Then, he started to get more aggressive offensively as he attacked the basket and finished well. He also had good creative moves off the dribble to shoot the ball.
