Teams: Barr-Reeve, Eastern Greene, Linton-Stockton. Mitchell, North Knox, South Knox
Last Year: Linton-Stockton won their fourth sectional title in a row last year but it was not easy for them. They had to go through Eastern Greene and South Knox with the latter being a 5 overtime championship game. You could say Barr-Reeve was upset but South Knox was very good last year. Top to bottom this sectional was one of the best last year and it showed when the biggest margin of victory in sectional games was just 13 points, and within three in three of the five games.
Contenders For 2016-17: This year the teams at the top all lost some key players but these teams are all well coached so there shouldn’t be that much of a step back. South Knox may take the biggest hit losing their leading scorer. Barr-Reeve will be up there again as always and Eastern Greene will be no slouch. Linton-Stockton returns the most so I think they will take the crown again.
Player To Watch: Josh Dieball is a really good tough-nosed guard for Linton-Stockton and much of their success will be based off of him. He looks to score and can do so in multiple ways. He plays football and Linton will make a deep run in the playoffs so he won’t see the court, like a lot of the Linton players, til early December.
