It was a solid day filled with the best players from the southern part of the state. We have comprised a notebook on some notes on some of the more interesting players we saw on Sunday. We take a look at some of the class of 2017s.
Javien Langley [6’4 – 2017 – Evansville Bosse (IN)] – Really love the way that Langley plays the guy. Not sure there is a guy that I have seen this fall that has played with as much energy as Javien has. He did a lot of work in and around the rim dealing with rebounds and scoring. He’s also pretty athletic and could be the steal for a small school that lands him this winter.
Sam Downen [6’7 – 2017 – South Knox (IN)] – Big, think post who has solid technique but not much athleticism. Moves well for size and can handle a bit on the perimeter but more as a passing threat. Could be solid contributor in college at the right program.
Jadan Manion [6’6 – 2017 – Evansville North (IN)] – Love his size and skill, as a bit post player he can move exceptionally well and create offense faced up from the perimeter. Also, he has a solid jump shot from deep. Has to stay focused on the game and if he does he has all of the tools to be successful at the next stage.
Jaidon Hunter [6’2 – 2017 – Evansville Bosse (IN)] – Really like Hunter creativeness and ability to slice through the defense. That and his vision make me think he can stick at the point in college. Made plays with the ball in his hands. Good ability to find the post to dump off on drives in the lane.
Brandon Duncan [6’4 – 2017 – Evansville Harrison (IN)] – Duncan looks like he is still playing the same as he did to end the summer. He turned a corner with his aggressiveness and the underlying skills are playing through. Good off the bounce where he can drive to the lane and finish with laying his body into the defender. Hitting his ceiling right as he becomes a senior.
