Miranda played with Club 1 Select 2017 this past AAU season and got to work on his individual game. The strong 6’0” PG is looking to have a solid senior season and continue to add interest and offers.
Not only does he excel in the classroom (4.0 GPA) but he also knows what he is looking for in a College or University. Miranda is interested in Biochemistry and has ambitions to go into the neuroscience medical research field as well.
Miranda had this to say about potential colleges, “I am looking for a smaller college where academics are important. I’d like to be on a good basketball team in a competitive league that puts me in a good position academically after my four years there.” Vincent is motivated on and off the court to succeed and become that best that he can be in both situations.
Vincent has also seen his recruiting begin to ramp up here recently. He currently holds an offer from Indiana Tech, and has been getting interest from Goshen College and Wabash College. He most recently just got off a visit with Wabash College where he liked their campus atmosphere and their strong academics. Miranda also said that Spring Arbor will be in to watch a workout in the coming months.
Miranda is looking to improve his game as well as his leadership skills during his senior season. “I want to lead my team and make my teammates better, which kind of goes hand in hand with becoming a more well-rounded point guard.” Miranda is very mature for his age and understands where he has room to improve.
Along with pushing his team to become better and challenging himself as a leader, Miranda has been working in the off season on his own game. “I’ve been working on finishing with both hands around the rim and staying on balance at the end of my dribble.” This will help him cut down on his turnovers and make better decisions with the ball in his hand. Miranda also told me that he has been working on shooting and passing off the dribble. All the work he his putting in is making him more confident in his ability to be a solid point guard this upcoming season.
Miranda will be one to keep an eye on this season as he is striving to take Northwood deep into the post season and find a fit for himself in a college program.
