Rozell has grew a couple inches, added strength to his frame, and spent his entire off-season focused on becoming a more physical player.
“The biggest focus of my summer was to get in the weight room and get stronger,” said Rozell. “Along with this I tried to get in the gym as much as possible and work on my weaknesses.”
Rozell is a guy that put up a dozen points per game shooting 54 percent as a wing and 44 percent as a three point shooter. Add in three and a half assists and boards a game and you have one of the more productive players in the class.
“My top moments were getting past districts and then going on and winning the state tournament,” Rozell said. “Then also finishing the season 26-0, it was awesome! “
The team is now without 6-foot-10 Michael Rogers inside but the program is still going strong with Rozell and others and the expectations remain high.
“We want to get back to the state tournament and defend the title,” Tyler said. “We are going to need to fill the spots of our last years seniors this year.
“We aren’t going to have 6-foot-10 in the lane anymore, so we are going to be a very different team. I think we are going to play at a fast pace which may help us reduce the factor of losing Mike Rogers.
“Also, I feel this year we are going to benefit on team chemistry, we know our rolls, we have been playing together for a long time and that always helps.”
Tyler is also an excellent football player who has his team at 5-0 on the season with a ridiculous combined score of 250-26 after three games. College football may also be a thing he looks at but right now Tyler is only thinking about his senior year.
“A couple of colleges have contacted me for basketball and football,” Tyler said. “As of right now I don’t have any visits set up.
“I’m not sure yet I’m very open to anything right now since I’m not quite sure what I want to do academically.”
