Mack uses his length and size well around the rim and is a strong finisher inside the paint. He runs the floor well and has good hands that allow him to catch and finish on the move. He uses his length well to bother opponent’s shots around the rim and contests mid-range jumpers well.
He was pleased with how the summer unfolded both for himself and the team. He currently holds offers from Franklin College, Adrian University, and Anderson University. There are also a handful of schools showing interest and planning to talk with Mack throughout his senior season.
Mack knows that the strength of his game is with his back to the basket and using his size to create space to finish. “My back to the basket game is already my strong point but footwork is always a big deal and something I need to work on.” Along with working on footwork heading into the season, he is also working on adding a jump shot to his offensive game. Adding this dimension will make him a very tough match up for opponents this year.
Stevie is also working on staying fit and slim for the upcoming season. This will help him in his jumping ability and explosiveness around the basket. He rebounds the ball well and has a soft touch around the basket that will continue to improve with an increase in his athleticism.
Mack is a team oriented player who is looking to get the best out of every one of his teammates. He is more interested in the team reaching their full potential than any individual accolades. He knows his role on the team and is looking to expand his capabilities to help the team be successful.
Stevie Mack will be a player to watch coming out of New Washington and is proof that talent can be found at any size high school. He is anxiously awaiting the start of his senior season and is ready to show off what he has been working on in the off season.
