The 6’6″ Womack was a key contributor to the Lions 23-6 team that advanced to the Class 3 state quarterfinals. With the graduation of 6’8″ standout Brandon Jackson (now at SIUE) and two other key frontcourt players, look for Womack to step into a big role for the Lions as they continue to stake their claim as one of the top contenders in Class 3.
In recent weeks, Womack has been contacted by a number of NCAA Division I and Division II schools. He has interest from Division I schools Oral Roberts, SIUE, Elon and UMKC as well as Division II Southwest Baptist.
Womack is a versatile combo forward who brings excellent athleticism and a nice skill set to the lineup. He is long and he loves to attack the basket, whether it is on the drive or when he is attacking the offensive boards.
“My strengths as a player are my athleticism, rebounding, ball handling and shot blocking ability,” Womack said. “I try to use my size and length on the defensive end and with offensive rebounding and stretching the floor. I’m looking to improve on every aspect of our game. I am never content with my game. My goal for my senior season is to win a state championship and get better as a team and as a program.”
Womack is also a skilled player who will provide huge matchup problems for opposing defenders. He is really a wing player who excels on the perimeter, but he plays more of a power forward role on his guard-heavy Cardinal Ritter team. That gives him a distinct advantage over bigger defenders with his quickness and skill level.
During the summer, Womack played for the Missouri Hustle 17U team that enjoyed an excellent grassroots season with a 31-12 record while playing on the NY2LA circuit.
“The summer with the Hustle was great,” Womack said. “We turned a lot of heads every time we played. The NY2LA League was great. There was a lot of top talent in the league.”
