Lamel Robinson 5’11” Park Hill South (KC Run GMC): Robinson enjoyed an excellent summer for one of the top teams of the grassroots season. Helped lead KC Run GMC to the championship of the Under Armour Association. He can excel at either guard position with his speed, quickness and ability to score. He can get in the lane and finish at the rim, but he can also knock down perimeter jumpers, which makes him very difficult to guard. Enjoyed a big freshman season for Park Hill South’s district championship team.
Yuri Collins 5’10” St. Mary’s (St. Louis Eagles): A true pass-first point guard who is one of the best facilitators in the state. Collins knows his teammates are open before they know they are open. Does an excellent job of delivering the ball to the right place at the right time. Tremendous court vision. He is a fine ball handler with excellent strength on the dribble. He is at his best offensively when he’s getting to the basket.
Kevin Jones 5’10” Sikeston (St. Louis Eagles): A strong, physical combo guard who plays with a high motor at both ends of the court. He is a relentless defender who excels in a full-court, up tempo game. Loves to hawk the ball and create turnovers. Jones is also very good when he is one the attack. Late in the summer, he unleashed a serious stroke from 3-point range. The added 3-point shot is a tremendous addition to his game. As a freshman, he was an impact player for Sikeston’s Final Four team in the Class 4 state tournament.
Desi Williams 5’10” Park Hill South (KC Run GMC): Talented point guard who was the facilitator and floor leader for the KC GMC team that won the Under Armour championship with an undefeated record. Williams was content to play the pass-first role for this talented and loaded team, but he has the speed and quickness to make things happen with dribble penetration when called upon to score.
Derez Tipler 5’10” East Prairie (SEMO Bulls): A quick point guard with the ability to pass the ball and get buckets. He stepped in as a freshman and led East Prairie in scoring, assists and steals. His jet quickness allows him to break down defenders on the dribble with regularity. Has the ability to knock down perimeter jumpers when defenders back off.
Keyyan Batchman 6’2″ Chaminade (St. Louis Eagles): A strong, physical guard who excels at both backcourt positions. Batchman has really worked hard on his perimeter shooting and it has paid off in a very consistent lefty stroke from 3-point range. He is a big, physical point guard whose size and strength gives him a nice advantage. He uses that size quite well when it comes to getting to the basket.
Dre Sorrells 5’9″ Grandview (MoKan Elite): A quick point guard with good passing ability and excellent 3-point shooting range. His ability to shoot the ball from deep enables him to play off the ball effectively. His dribble penetration skills are very good thanks to his speed and quickness.
Courtland Sol 6’0″ Tower Grove (Rocktown): A smooth performer with nice size and skill level. Sol handles the ball like its on a string and he can get to the basket and knock down mid-range jumpers. He is crafty with the basketball with his handles and passing. He does a nice job changing speeds and directions to keep defenders off balance.
Rondov Jennings 5’9″ Hogan Prep (MoKan Elite): A small, quick point guard who is one of the best, if not the best on-ball defender in the class. He can pick up an opposing ball handler in the parking lot and harass him for the entire game with great determination. Jennings is a very good ball handler who will run your offense and make his teammates better.
Maleek Davis 5’10” Cardinal Ritter (Jets-Ramey United): A talented combo guard who has the size of a small point guard, but can really score the basketball. He went off on some very impressive offensive binges for stretches. Davis can handle the ball and has a nice mid-range jumper. He is also a dangerous 3-point shooter who can get it done off the catch or in transition.
