Vomacka is a versatile talent that has played lead guard and both forward positions in the past couple years plus he’s a talented football player as well who runs a 4.6 40.
“I’m hearing from mostly football programs including Dakota State, Northern State, Augustana, Dakota Wesleyan, and Minnesota State-Moorhead have shown the most interest,” Robert said.
“As far as basketball, Dakota Wesleyan and Mount Marty have shown interest.”
Vomacka put up 14.5 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game as a junior for the 15-7 Gregory squad.
“First and foremost my focus will be on this football season,” Vomacka told PHD. “But as always, my teammates and I will be in the gyms at nights.”
Gregory has won their first two football games of the season so far.
Robert got ready for the basketball season by playing with Coach Knippling’s Pentagon Basketball Club that went 11-14 this year.
“I had a great AAU season this summer,” Vomacka said. “One of my top experiences was the run my team was able to make at the KC tournament. We played great in tournament play after a bad day in pool play.
“That, along with my coach pushing me the whole summer, helped me develop into a better player and leader.
“Coach Knippling realized the abilities that I didn’t even know I had and helped me develop those. He believed in us all summer, and that really helped with my confidence on the court.”
Now Vomacka is a senior working to finish his career with success.
