Recruiting Report: Riley Peters (2017)
Riley Peters is one of the Vermillion basketball standouts which brings in PHD but college football is his future destination.
At 6-foot-6 and 200 pounds playing wide receiver and defensive end Peters is a wanted prospect.
“I haven’t heard much for basketball but some of the colleges I’ve heard from for football are South Dakota, Colorado State, Northern State, Minnesota State-Mankato, and Wyoming.
“I’ve already been to South Dakota and Northern State. I plan on going to Colorado State and possibly visiting Minnesota State-Mankato and South Dakota State.”
Peters spent most of his summer gearing up for his final football run but spent time in the gym too.
“My summer was great,” Riley told PHD. “Although I spent a majority of my time focusing on football, I went to a lot of open gyms and went to team camps throughout the summer.”
Vermillion is all about finally getting the Tanager program and their school to the state tournament. That’s all Peters is thinking about.
“I think I can speak for my team when I say that our goal is to end the drought in vermillion and make the state tournament,” Riley said.
“I think the most important thing that our team needs to improve is coming back from losing all but one of our starters and having some guys step up and know their rolls.”
Riley had a junior season to be proud of on the hardwood.
“As a junior one of my top moments was in the region championship game when I picked off a ball to swing the games momentum back into our favor.
“I look forward to greatly improving this year with the help of Cooper Williams and other teammates throughout the season.”
