A 6-foot guard, Davis has scholarship offers from Army, Navy, Drury, Missouri S&T, Pittsburg State and Southwest Baptist. He has also drawn interest from South Dakota and SIU-Edwardsville.
As a junior, Davis was a part of a talented Kickapoo squad that featured several talented seniors including Drury freshman Isaac Johnson and Niekie Thomas-Fontleroy, who is now attending prep school. The Chiefs also featured several talented underclassmen, including MoKan teammate and Xavier commit Jared Ridder, among others.
“MoKan has really changed my life over the course of the last three years,” Davis said. “Playing with them this spring and summer is awesome because for one, we get to play in front of multiple college coaches each week. But, I think the true benefit of playing for MoKan is it truly gets you prepared for the next level. Everything for the way you act in the hotel room, to the way you travel, to the way you play, it’s all similar to how it is gonna be in college.
“It has by far been one of the best decisions I could’ve made and has opened countless doors of opportunity for me to continue playing at the next level.”
Davis played alongside Michael and Jontay Porter, Kickapoo teammate Jared Ridder, Webster Groves standout Carte’ Gordon, and against nearly every elite prospect in the country as part of the Nike EYBL. Davis said the experience of play in the Peach Jam will only pay dividends in the future.
“Peach Jam is like no other tournament in the country,” Davis said. “Period. Getting to play against the best kids in the country gave my team and myself a barometer for where our team and myself can improve. The feeling of celebrating with my team after winning the whole thing was unreal because that was our goal from the beginning of the EYBL.
“We enjoyed every moment of it. I think that was the icing on the cake.”
