The inaugural Prep Hoops Missouri Top 250 Expo will be held on Saturday, September 24 at the Center of St. Louis. More than 200 players are expected to attend the Top 250 Expo with a chance to grow their games through individual skill work and game competition.
Here is preview of the top Class of 2018 point guards and combo guards who will be participating in the Top 250 Expo:
Landon Harrison 5’10” Helias: Tough, competitive guard who led the Crusaders to a third-place finish in the Class 4 state tournament as a sophomore. Harrison enjoyed an excellent summer with the Missouri Combat 16U. Earned a scholarship offer from local Division II school Lincoln University.
Austin Thompson 6’1″ MICDS: Athletic point guard who helped the Rams to a 18-9 record and the Metro League title in 2016. Starting to receive interest from Division I and Division II programs after an excellent July evaluation period with the Missouri Hustle 16U. A strong defender who is starting to emerge as a scorer.
Koby Klaus 6’1″ Grandview: A potent offensive threat who has averaged more than 20 points a game in his first two years of high school at Grandview. Played the past summer with the Gateway. Rounding back into form after missing the July evaluation period with an injury. Gets buckets off the drive and from the perimeter.
Marco Powells 6’0″ Fort Zumwalt North: Solid combo guard who returns after leading the Panthers to a surprise Class 5 district championship as a sophomore. A very patient player who lets the game come to him, but is a very strong finisher when he gets to the basket. Played with the Cobras Elite.
Zach Niemeyer 5’11” Christian-O’Fallon: Enjoyed a very solid sophomore year at Christian-O’Fallon, where he averaged eight points a game. Should really thrive under the guidance of new coach Terry Hollander, who developed many top-flight guards during his Hall of Fame career at St. Charles West.
