Here are some of the top guards to watch at the Parkway North Fall League:
Marcus James 5’11” Francis Howell Central ’17: Speedy point guard who returns after leading the Spartans in scoring last season. James keeps the tempo going at a fast and furious pace whenever possible.
Connor McArthy 6’0″ Parwkay South ’17: Solid point guard who handles the ball well and knocks down 3-point shots. Led the Patriots to a 16-10 record, averaging 10 points a game as a junior.
Austin Thompson 6’1″ MICDS ’18: Athletic point guard who returns after averaging six points, three assists and three steals for the Rams, who finished 18-9 and won the Metro League title last season.
Drew Deters 6’0″ Troy ’18: Strong point guard who has been a starter for the Trojans since his freshman season. He is a excellent ball handler and a pinpoint passer with good court vision.
Maleek Davis 5’10” Cardinal Ritter ’19: Talented combo guard was has the ability to put up points in bunches. An excellent perimeter shooter with a mid-range game and 3-point capability.
Matt Roper 6’5″ MICDS ’17: A senior sharp shooter who returns after averaging 11 points a game as a junior for the Rams. He shot close to 40 percent from 3-point range.
Tayari Goodwin 5’8″ Parkway North ’19: Talented young point guard who took over the playmaking duties for the Vikings as a freshman. Has a nice stroke from 3-point range.
Jalen White 6’2″ Lutheran North ’19: Potent offensive player who is strong on the drive and can play through contact. Will step into a prime role as a scorer after seeing several varsity minutes as a freshman last year.
