Mt. Vernon (IN) Guard Takes Official, Commits To Louisiana-Monroe
Most DI prospects are at the point in their recruitment where it is close to decision time and with that, they are getting onto college campuses for visits. That was the case for Mt. Vernon (Fortville) guard Michael Ertel. He went on his first and last official visit this weekend to Louisiana-Monroe. Upon leaving, Ertel gave his commitment to the Warhawks and is now a part of their 2017 recruiting class.
Louisiana-Monroe is part of the Sun Belt Conference, a league that seems to grab a lot of players from the Hoosier State. Georgia State and South Alabama are a constant threat with coaching connections back home. Now, Louisiana-Monroe can claim Michael Ertel.
Mills Takes Visit To In-State DIII
Castle (IN) forward Payton Mills became a hot name this past summer as he showed that he could play at just about any spot on the floor. The aggressive 6’5 forward is looking into some DIII programs this fall.
Mills has already been on a couple visits including DePauw but the latest coming to Hanover College. Mills fits the bill of a potential standout at that level as he can dominate in the post at 6’5 while still being able to fan out to the perimeter. Expect his stock to stay high throughout the fall and into December when “offers” can start being handed out.
Lawrence North Big Man Picks Up In-State Offer
Many mid-major programs have already jumped on board the Ra Kpedi train. The Lawrence North big man has quite a few teams on his trail and now he just picked up another offer over the weekend from one of the better in-state programs.
The Indiana State Sycamores joined the party by offering Kpedi. He already has offers from Ball State, Vermont, Northern Kentucky, IUPUI, Cornell, New Orleans, Western Illinois, and Monmouth. Indiana State should jump right into the mix and be a competitive team in his recruitment.
