Johnson and Justis Clayton played with BBA Force this year, there was a 15U Harrisburg AAU club through PBC, and a few others were on the Grassroots scene competing. The Tigers are definitely working and will continue to work,
“Over the next four months we will continue to lift consistently and we will also have a basketball workout/open gym 2 to 3 times a week, which will really help create a bond between us players,” Johnson told PHD.
Wil himself was a part of a BBA team that won 28 games last year which was the high for the Dakota programs playing at the 17U level.
“Some of the top moments of AAU was playing against all of the quick and physical guards from all around the Midwest,” Johnson said. “I think it really helped improve my toughness with the ball and the ability to guard the dribble more.”
Wil definitely has college basketball on the mind and he has taken a visit and will soon take a couple more.
“I have already visited Morningside College earlier this summer and am visiting Briar Cliff and Mount Marty later this week,” Wil said. “I’ve also heard from Dakota State and Concordia-Moorhead.
“I have planned a visit both with Briar Cliff and Mount Marty and I also plan on visiting Dakota state sometime in the fall.”
Expect Johnson and the Tigers to have a strong winter before he leaves to play at the college level next year.
