This year, we can already see a few schools make that play but a new one is that of SUNY Canton as they made an offer this past weekend to Avon (IN) wing Hayden Crowder. The 6’2 shooter now has his first offer in hand after a visit up to the New York college.
“I loved it up in New York,” Crowder said of his visit to SUNY Canton. “The coaches were cool but it’s 14 hours away. They there were cool and the new 46 million dollar facility they built is pretty cool.”
Canton is a program that doesn’t stray outside of New York too often so they saw something in Hayden. Crowder is a pretty solid wing prospect with the ability to shoot the ball well. He had a solid year with Avon and Hoosier Hoops 2017 this summer. Now, he sits with a place to play in college down the road.
“It feels really good to get the first one,” Hayden said. “Maybe It will get me more or stronger interest from other school now that I have the first one out of the way.”
Outside of SUNY Canton, Trine and Geneva are the two other programs showing significant interest in the 6’2 wing player. He’s back in school at Avon and looking towards a big fall and winter.
