The 6’0″ Snyder is a solid all-around player who can handle the ball, shoot 3-pointers and score in the post when he goes inside. He spent his summer playing with the KC Pacers Blue 17U team.
“I enjoyed playing with the Pacers during the AAU season,” Snyder said. “It’s a lot faster paced and I did a better job of keeping up with the guards on the perimeter.”
Snyder will be entering his fourth year as a starter for the Hornets. As a junior, he averaged a team-high 14.6 points a game in leading Chillicothe to an 18-10 record and berth in the Class 3, District 15 championship game. He scored a season-high 31 points on 15 of 17 shooting from the field in an overtime loss to Hamilton on January 21.
Snyder also averaged four rebounds a game while shooting 44 percent from 3-point range and 72 percent from the free throw line. He reaped All-Conference and All-District honors after his excellent junior season.
With the Hornets graduating three starters, Snyder will have even more responsibility as a senior. He played mostly forward during his junior year, but he will spent much of his senior year in the backcourt. During his summer with the Pacers, he played in the backcourt exclusively where he got a chance to hone his ball handling and shooting skills.
“I played in the post all of my junior year and I’ll be playing a lot of guard this year,” Snyder said. “I’ve been able to improve my 3-point percentage. I’ve been working on my ball handling and creating my own shot.”
