Some of the Bulls’ highlights include the championship of the NY2LA Lone Star Tournament, the Bronze Division title at the Circle City Classic. Here is a look at the top prospects from the 16U SEMO Bulls:
Ian Torrey 6’4″ Portageville: This young man has a chance to be a legitimate prospect with his combination of size, athleticism and versatility on the perimeter. He has a strong body at about 200 pounds who can post up inside, but he is very good on the perimeter with his ball handling and passing ability. He can score on the drive and knock down 3-pointers. He is also an excellent prospect in football and baseball.
Demarcus Sharp 6’2″ Charleston: A talented combo guard who did an excellent job as a facilitator and scorer during the summer. He is long and athletic and did a nice job on the defensive end. He is a talented 3-point shooter, but he also got to the basket and scored at the rim. He’s making a nice adjustment to the point guard position.
Klay Barton 6’2″ Doniphan: A very good combo guard who could handle the point guard duties, but was most effective on the wing where he could get buckets. He did a nice job shooting the ball in transition and could make long 3-pointers off the catch. I like the confidence that he plays with on the offensive end.
Austin Parker 6’5″ Cape Girardeau Central: An athletic post player who was an active scorer and rebounder along the baseline. He can make things happen with his length and athleticism. He’s a better scorer facing the basket on the drive and on the offensive boards than as a low post scorer. He should have a big junior year at Cape Central.
Levi Woods 5’10” Puxico: A feisty young point guard who competes hard and makes plays. He is a nice floor leader who has the ability to make shots and get the ball to his teammates. He has the ability to knock down 3-point shots. A solid point guard who can score.
Joseph Reece 6’8″ Vashon: A long and athletic combo forward with a versatile skill set, Reese has the look of a Division I prospect with his size and skills. He can score off the bounce, rebound and make perimeter shots. He is still trying to put the entire package together as his body and game continue to develop. Still a work in progress, but there are a lot of tools to work with.
