They have enjoyed a solid amount of success with its strong backcourt play and solid bigs along the front line. Here are some of the top prospects of the Combat:
Landon Harrison 5’10” (Helias): An excellent point guard who competes with a lot of toughness and plays without fear. Harrison joined the team in late spring after playing baseball, but came on to have an excellent summer. He earned his first offer from hometown Lincoln University after a strong July. He is tough on the drive and an excellent perimeter shooter to boot. He really loves the action when the game gets the most competitive.
Davis Aufdembrink 6’1″ (CBC): This young man was one of the best shooters that I watched during the entire summer. He would routinely make five or six 3-pointers in a game, but I watched one game in which he made nine. His deep shooting range and quick release made him very tough to defend. He will be a dangerous weapon for CBC with its other backcourt weapons.
Nathan Bax 6’6″ (Helias): He is a big strong kid who was very productive all summer with his versatile game. He was the team’s No. 1 post option and he delivered with strong inside play around the rim. He was also a very aggressive rebounder. I liked how he could step out and make mid-range jumpers off the catch.
Josh White 6’3″ (Fort Zumwalt West): A long, athletic kid who has a chance to develop into a stellar all-around player. He was very good at the Hardwood, especially on offense with his ability to slash to the basket and score on drives. I’ve talked about his ability to defend and how I think he can become a dominant defender. He has the height, athleticism, length and desire to guard several positions.
Zach Bond 6’7″ (Eugene): He was one of the most improved players I watched over the course of the summer. He is still new to the game and looked very raw in the early tournaments this spring. By the end of the summer, he was getting buckets in the post. He’s developed a nice turnaround jumper in the lane. He’s an excellent athlete with a nice up-side.
Jack Mullen 6’6″ (Parkway South): A solid, no-nonsense, post player who plays hard and knows his role on a team. He sets good screens and can post up well and finish strong around the basket. He will battle you for post position and rebounds on every possession.
Alex Smith 6’3″ (Battle): A strong, physical combo guard who was the size and ability to play all three perimeter positions. He was good on the drive where he could play through contact and finish well at the rim.
