Guys like Griffin Spring, Sergiey Slaugher, and Kierson Watts all were guys I saw shine at times during the season. They were built around size, not huge post players but size at all positions on the floor. They were one of the bigger teams in terms of guards and wings and that was helpful especially when they could combat speed with K.J. Davis at the point. Josh Cochran of Brown County gave them a big boy inside that was able to be physical with any legit post players that they came up against as well.
Best Player: Really, this group has three or four guys I like at this spot but I’m going with Kierson Watts because he was the guy I saw perform the best, the most often. Watts is a 6’5 wing with a big body and a really skilled offensive game. He’s not a guy that you see a ton of in this state. He’s got legit size and the ability to drive and make plays in the mid-range. He has to continue to improve his perimeter jumper to really balance out his game but for college programs, they should like that he can give them a different look and cause some match-up problems along the way.
Players To Watch: The player that you should look for to have the biggest fall and winter will be that of Griffin Spring. He’s making a move to Loogootee and building off of a strong run this summer, he could be in line for a boost in his stock. At 6’5, Spring is an offensive weapon that is built around his jump shot. He wasn’t as strong with it last high school season when I saw him but this summer he looked back on track. Give him a new school, new opponents, and a little more confidence and it should be interesting to see how he responds.
