Continue ReadingThe OKC Wizards have gone on an incredible run in the Great American Shootout. After struggling a little bit in pool play the OKC Wizards have found their way. The trio of Cameron Hines, Brantly Thompson and Trent Crow have led them to the semifinals.
All three are 2017 prospects with different skill sets. Below we breakdown each player in the trio and what they have done well at the Great American Shootout.
Cameron Hines 2017 Point Guard
Hines has scored the ball well for the majority of the weekend using his good handle, sneaky quickness and pull up jumper. He does a great job of getting his teammates involved from the Point Guard spot. There have been several times he has made the ball fit through a tight window to a teammate for a great look. He goes to a small high school in Oklahoma, but has proven he can play with just about anyone over the past two summers playing grassroots basketball. Hines projects as a Division II basketball prospect at the next level.
Brantly Thompson 2017 Wing
Thompson is known as a player on the wing that is best when slashing or driving to the basket. With that said he has shot the ball lights out at the Great American Shootout from three-point range. He has displayed his ability to score in all three phases of the game in front of many coaches this weekend. Thompson projects as a Division II player out of Tuttle. He plays extremely hard and makes smart plays on the floor. Thompson has gotten quicker over the past year and is also showing off his improved jumper. What he has been able to do this weekend for the OKC Wizards has been impressive.
Trent Crow Combo 2017 Guard
Crow is a combo guard that intrigues a lot of schools within the region. He is mainly a spot up outside shooter for the OKC Wizards. This weekend he has thrived in that role shooting the basketball lights out. One area you would like to see Crow improve upon a little is attacking the basket with more confidence off the dribble. Crow’s shooting skills will attract some attention from colleges after this weekend. From behind the arc Crow has been one of the best shooters all weekend long.
