A 6-foot-3 guard from Lee’s Summit North, Jenkins has shined this summer while playing for Team Rush. But Jenkins says he has worked hard to become an all-around performer.
“I’m a multi-dimensional player on the offensive end where I can shoot from deep, mid range and get to the basket and finish at the rim,” Jenkins said. “On the defensive end, I’m always tasked with guarding the toughest offensive player.”
Through workouts with coaches Victor Williams and Keenan Weir, Jenkins says he has been able to develop a good pull-up jump shot and finish at the rim.
Jenkins, who says his inspiration and guidance as a player comes from his dad, has starred this summer for Team Rush, a team made up of some of the Kansas City area’s premier players.
“Our team got a lot of exposure to different colleges and coaches with the different tournaments we played in,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins showed off his standout perimeter shooting this summer at the Great American Shootout in Dallas, where he had 31 points with nine 3-pointers in one contest, and 24 points with six 3-pointers in another.
“It (playing with Team Rush) has also given me the opportunity to play against top level talent in tournaments like the Great American Shootout in Dallas, the Jayhawk Classic in Kansas City, and the Adidas Gauntlet Finale in South Carolina,” Jenkins said.
Jenkins says he has heard from several schools with varying levels of interest, but has not yet drawn any offers.
