Beane, a 6’3 guard, is one of the more intriguing names in the class for Indiana. He’s a tall guard with a strong frame and tons of upside. He’s been a guy that can play on and off the ball and his upside lies in his ability as a lead guard.
However, he is already starting to draw in the attention of some Division I head coaches. The first school to really attach themselves to Beane is Kent State. This past week they sent Jimmy his first offer.
“It feels good,” Beane said of his first offer from Kent State. “I have been working extremely hard.
The recruiting process is really new to Jimmy right now and he’s ready to dig in and do some research on his first scholarship offer.
“Nothing really yet,” Beane said. “I just know it is in the MAC and I’m delighted that they offered. The coach is really cool guy.”
This summer has been a little up and down as he has been running with Spiece but they seem to be hitting their stride just at the right time. The addition of head coach Jason Delaney is a big deal for Beane.
“We got a new coach,” Jimmy said of Spiece Indy Heat 2018. “Coach (Jason) Delaney is great and I’ve averaged about 16 and 5 and we are like 10-1 with him.”
Expect to hear more on the standout junior from South Bend. Jimmy Beane might only have one offer at this stage but he also has a ton of DI interest from low-major to high-major. Schools like Ball State, West Virginia, Toledo, Detroit, IUPUI, IPFW, Northern Kentucky, and Illinois are just a few of the schools that have been reaching out.
