At 6-foot-5, 165-pounds, Meny is coming off an all-state sophomore season in which he helped lead Palmyra to a 16-12 record. He led the squad in scoring at 16.6 points per game and was second in rebounding at 7.6 per game. Meny filled up a stat sheet, averaging 4.4 assists, 3.1 steals and 2.4 blocked shots per game. He shot 43 percent from the field and led the team with 60 3-pointers, shooting 40 percent from long distance.
Meny says he moved well without the ball, has the ability to shoot from the outside and attacks the rim when he can.
Many, who tries to pattern his game after Klay Thompson, says he is spending the offseason working on, “Attacking the rim, getting separation and being strong with the ball.”
This offseason, Meny moved to Columbia and will play next season at Battle High School as his father Brian took the head coaching position at the school. He has spent the offseason playing for Tim Ward and the Missouri Hustle and has teamed with Sacred Heart guard Trent Lyles, big man Cason Suggs of Washington and Columbia players Jamonta Black and Nyjel White, among others.
“The spring and summer was good,” he said. “We competed well at a high level and that has made my confidence level grow and defend better players.”
Many says he does not yet have any offers, but has drawn some interest from mid major Division I and several Division II schools, and has been invited to several campuses and elite camps.
