A 5-foot-10 guard, Robinson is a versatile player that can handle the ball, hit the open jumper and takes pride in his ability to get his teammates involved.
“I love seeing my teammates happy just as much as I love scoring so Im a pass first guy cause I know I can take over a game whenever I want to,” Robinson said. recently. “The things I do well on the court is being a leader getting others involved attacking the paint and getting to my pull ups.”
Robinson has been a key part of an undefeated summer by KC Run GMC 15U, who won the Under Armour Association Finals. The squad kept its undefeated summer alive last weekend as they won the Jayhawk Summer Finale in Kansas City, defeating Team Thad in the championship by one point.
“I have been working on my conditioning and my jump shot this summer I feel if my jump shot is there plus my conditioning on point there’s not to many people who can stop me,” he said. “I also been working on my quickness and my strength.”
Robinson says he enjoys watching Russell Westbrook play and tries to match his motor.
“I feel if he can be that intense and play at the speed he does and If I take what he do and add it to my game that would make a difference,” he said.
Robinson said competing for KC Run GMC 15U, a squad that has been ranked as high as No. 1 in the country this season, has been a family experience.
“We turned into family really quick,” he said. “My role on the team, I felt like everybody knew I could score the ball, but didn’t nobody know I could get other players involved like the way I did.
“I even had one of my teammates tell me I was his favorite guard he ever played with this summer. I looked strong on both sides of the ball and I’m looking forward to next year.”
Robinson does not currently hold any offers, but feels his time will come.
