A 6-foot-5 forward, Hailey was a key forward for a squad that featured plenty of size for a Class 1 program as the team also featured Daniel Hailey (6-5) and Alex McQuinn (6-6). Brad Hailey was third on the team in scoring at 10.1 per game and chipped in 5.3 rebounds. He shot 61 percent from the field.
“My style of game is either take my big man off the dribble or create my own shot,” Hailey said. “If my defender is smaller I use my size to my advantage.
“I have been focusing on (improving) my pull up jumper,” he said. “I focus on getting it off quick and under control.”
After mostly playing in the paint for Stanberry, Hailey says the summer has given him the opportunity to play more on the perimeter.
“I play on the perimeter for a lot with my AAU team and I’ve learned better moves,” he said. “I have also become more of a threat from the 3-point line.”
Hailey says he enjoys watching former Laker Kobe Bryant play and has tried to take some elements of his game and make them his own.
“I have always liked Kobe Bryant’s style,” he says. “I use the same fade away jumper that he is known for. I relate to him with my size and position.”
Hailey says he does not currently have any offers and has drawn interest from one college but hopes more will follow suit.
