Nero has been productive this weekend using his good ball handling skills to create openings in the defense. The big weekend for Nero has been sparked by his jump shot falling. He is also getting to the rim at will and finishing through contact.
Nero credits his success at the Great American Shootout to his hard work this summer.
“I credit the success this weekend to being in the gym everyday,” Nero said. “As always I have to give credit to God for the success.”
Nero had a very clutch moment in the Quarterfinals at the Great American Shootout against the OKC Storm. He fed the paint, but immediately was hit with a pass back on the wing. With the clock winding down and a one point game Nero crossed over and pulled a step back three-pointer with a defender on him close. Simply, nothing but net. Nero has made big plays for Team Griffin all weekend long.
The ability of Nero to play the 1 or the 2 is appealing to schools. The scoring skill set Nero possess landed him an offer from UNC Greensboro earlier this year. UMKC has showed interest in Nero this weekend. With the high level Nero has played this weekend he could pull in another Division I offer.
